Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan
Service: bleach spot repair and apartment carpet cleaning
Project Overview
Our team was called to a luxury high-rise apartment in Manhattan where the homeowner had accidentally spilled a household cleaning agent containing bleach on their wall-to-wall carpeting. In addition to the visible white spots, the high-traffic areas in the living room had become dull and discolored over time.
The goal was twofold: perform a deep steam cleaning to sanitize the fibers and utilize our specialized color restoration process to repair the bleach damage without replacing the carpet.
The Process
Bleach Neutralization: We first applied a neutralizing agent to the affected areas to ensure no active bleach remained in the fibers, which would otherwise reject new dyes.
Custom Color Matching: Our IICRC-certified technicians custom-blended permanent dyes to match the exact “Champagne Beige” tone of the apartment’s carpet.
Color Injection: Using precision tools, we manually re-inserted the pigment into the white bleach spots, blending them seamlessly with the surrounding fibers.
Deep Steam Cleaning: We finished the project with a truck-mounted hot water extraction (steam cleaning) to remove embedded dirt and ensure a uniform, fresh finish across the entire room.
Results:
Carpet is fully clean
- Color perfectly restored; spots are 100% invisible.
The customer was supper happy with the results!
